Due to Stage 3 restrictions having been re-imposed in Melbourne to slow the spread of COVID-19 the Victorian Government has again announced a temporary suspension of high volume activities under the Victorian Energy Upgrade Program from July 13th — see https://www.energy.vic.gov.au/energy-efficiency/victorian-energy-upgrades for full details.

As a result we have been required to temporarily suspend the free Powerpal installation service for Victorians. If you have already received an offer of an installation date unfortunately that appointment will need to be rescheduled, but do rest assured we will contact you to arrange a new installation date once the lockdown has been lifted — there is no need to contact our support desk.

If you have any questions or concerns in regards to the temporary suspension of the program you can contact the department via energy.upgrades@delwp.vic.gov.au.

We appreciate that this will be a huge disappointment for those who have signed up to the free Powerpal offer under the scheme, especially during a time when many Victorians will be facing higher home energy bills due to spending more time at home. We will be working with the Department of Land Water and Planning to seek to make Powerpal available again under the program as quickly as possible, and will contact all those who have registered to fulfil your Powerpal installation as soon as we can do so.

If you haven’t yet registered for a Powerpal installation under the VEU program and would like to sign up for when the program is available again you can do so at https://www.powerpal.net/free-in-victoria.

Stay safe everyone, and keep tracking those energy bills.
